Making A Mitre Plane From A Brass Back   Tenon Saw.

I decided to make a plane out of a disgarded Drabble & Sanderson brass back tenon saw that someone gave me, it is a bit thicker than normal.

The plane has a bronze D/T sole and tenon. The bed angle is 19 degrees, it has a rosewood infill and wedge, cupid boe detail on the bridge. Numerous marks (punch marks) on the body.

Sheffield made laminated iron by Ibbotson, 5 5/8" long x 1 3/8" wide.

Marking the body out.

The body cut out ready for bending.

The sole need some flattening.

Beautiful piece of figured rosewood for the wedge.

The plane works like a dream now I have flattened the bottom.
