No 3) A brass and steel D/T mitre plane, 5 1/2" long x 1 3/8" wide. The thick antique brass came out of a Hill Late Howel tenon saw, the little window of brass set in the front infill came out of an even ealier tenon saw by Howel. Howel with a zig zag border stamped into this little wondow. This little piece of brass over 200 years old was the only piece I could salvage from the tenon saw. Infilled with laburnum, one of the rarest timbers used in English furniture making. This is the last mitre plane that I have made to date and I darly love it. Absolute cracker. £1,550.
No 2) An all steel D/T mitre plane, gunmetal cupid bow bridge, finest of mouths, 4 1/2"long x 1 3/8" wide , infilled with sun darkened boxwood from Calke Abbey, Calke Abbey box stamped on the front infill, stunning patina. Another one of my favourites held back. £1,550.
No 1) An all steel D/T mitre plane 3" long x 7/8" wide cupid bow decoration around the top edge, finest of mouths, rich patina ebony infill, kept back as it was one of my favourites. £1,150.
