No 3) This heavy weight of small D/T mitre planes (3lb) made entirely out of 3/16" bronze gunmetal, measures 6 3/4" long x 2" wide with a very fine mouth. Infilled with one of the most decorative and rare timbers, Dalbergia Cochinensis, (flame wood).
It has a cupid bow on the bridge and cupid bows running around the top edge of the plane. Fitted with an old stock Sheffield made laminated Ward & Payne iron, easily the best I have ever made. £3050.
This is a picture of the plane before I put the cupid bows round the top edge and it shows off the beautiful wood in the sun.
No 2) A small D/T mitre plane made out of a brass back tenon saw, brass & steel with ebony inill, through tenons on the sole. The saw was made by Groves & Sons for Gleave & Sons. The ebony infill has a raised front and rear infill. 3 3/8" long x 15/16" wide. £1,060
No 1) An all 3/16" bronze mitre plane, exposed cupid bow dovetailes with cupids bow decoration around the top of the body. English boxwood infill, Isaac Greaves iron, a very heavy plane for it's size. 4 3/8" long x 1 3/8" wide. £2,050
